The new head of public works and facilities for the Township of North Huron is being touted as a man with a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective.
The township announced on Tuesday it has appointed Dax McAllister to the position of director of public works and facilities.
He comes to North Huron from another municipality where he was responsible for roads, drainage, and operations. McAllister has more than ten years of municipal field experience and is a certified roads supervisor, certified municipal manager, and has water distribution and wastewater collection certifications from the Ontario Water Wastewater Certification Office.
"The Township of North Huron is very pleased to welcome Dax McAllister to his new role,” Reeve Paul Heffer said in a statement. “Dax’s vast experience is undoubtedly an asset to North Huron, and I know he will work to ensure high quality infrastructure for our Township. We look forward to all the contributions he will make and the fresh perspective he brings to North Huron.”
McAllister's initial focus in his new role with North Huron will be identifying and aligning the goals of the public works and facilities department with the township's 2024-2027 strategic plan.
His first day on the job will be Monday.
