Mischief Arrests

A rash of shattered windows and doors in Chatham over the weekend has led to mischief charges against two people.

Chatham-Kent police alleged a 33-year-old man from Chatham smashed three windows and broke a front door at a business on King Street West in Chatham on Sunday morning shortly before 8 a.m.

The suspect was later arrested on Wellington Street in Chatham.

Police also said the accused was in breach of his probation order to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The suspect is facing charges of mischief and failure to comply with his probation order.

On Sunday night, a 36-year-old woman was arrested and charged with mischief after she allegedly threw a rock through a window at a home in Chatham.

A warrant was issued for her arrest, and she was later taken into custody.

Theft Arrests

A 43-year-old Chatham-Kent man has been charged with mischief, theft, and trespassing following a copper theft at a business on King Street West in Chatham shortly before 5 a.m. on Sunday.

Chatham-Kent police said the owner reported someone on the roof of his business stealing copper flashing.
