Drugs and weapons seized at traffic stop in Mitchell

Perth County OPP seized two guns and suspected cocaine and methamphetamine during a traffic stop in Mitchell.

On November 3, officers spotted a driver they knew to be prohibited from driving and initiated a traffic stop on St. George Street in Mitchell.

Police searched the vehicle and found two firearms, one of which was loaded, along with ammunition, and drugs suspected to be cocaine and methamphetamine.

The driver, a 35-year-old from West Perth, and the passenger, a 32-year-old from Huron East, now both face numerous charges including unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and possession of a schedule 1 substance.

Both of the accused are being held in custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on November 4, 2025.
