Maroons lose back-to-back games

The Chatham Maroons had a weekend to forget.

They traveled to Listowel on Friday to take on the Cyclones and lost 5-4.

The Maroons found themselves down three goals early in the second period when Ian Lachance scored his ninth of the season. Getting the assists were Jaxon Priddle and Aydan Doyle.

Dylan Richter got his seventh of the season before the intermission, giving the Maroons some hope heading into the final period. Carter Kuchar and Doyle with the assists on the goal.

After giving up a fourth goal to Listowel, the Maroons were able to tie the game thanks to two goals from Carter Chadwick. His 18th of the season was unassisted, while Richter and Lachance assisted on his 19th goal.

A shootout was needed to decide the winner, with the only goal being scored by Listowel's Colton Henderson.

Samuel DiBlasi made 33 saves, including one in the shootout, for the Maroons.

The team was back in action on Sunday, hosting the London Nationals. An early two-goal hole was too much for the Maroons to overcome, as they lost 3-2.

Ewan McChesney would score his 16th of the season from assists from Alexander Lisi and Aidan Edwards, before Richter got his 8th goal from Lachance and Chadwick.

DiBlasi made another 32 saves in the loss.

The Maroons will be back in action on January 17, when they travel to Elmira to take on the Sugar Kings.
