Police Arrest Teens after Allegedly Pulling Out Weapons at Party

Two Chatham teens were arrested after allegedly threatening people with knives at a party.

At around 2 a.m. on Saturday, Chatham-Kent (CK) police were called to a home on Dillon Road.

When officers arrived, they were told by several youth taking part in an end-of-the-summer party that multiple people wearing ski masks showed up uninvited and took out knives in front of people. One of the suspects also reportedly dropped a handgun.

The suspects were told to leave and did so, but around 30 minutes later, police said the vehicle, believed to be driven by the suspects, was seen returning to the area. A high-risk traffic stop was conducted, with police finding two 17-year-old boys in the vehicle.

The pair was charged with possession of a controlled substance after police found a bag of suspected drugs in the vehicle.

An investigation into the claims at the party is ongoing.

Alleged Assault at Party

CK police have charged a teen following an assault at a party.

At about 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, police were called to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) after a person arrived with several broken and misaligned teeth.

Officers were told by the victim that they were at a party on Dillon Road. Police haven't specified whether that person was at the same party where several people allegedly showed up with ski masks and weapons.

The victim alleged that a person approached them from behind and began striking them in the face. Witnesses at the party were able to corroborate the story.

Police later arrested a 16-year-old Blenheim boy at his home and charged him with assault causing bodily harm.
